3 Hottest Style Tips For Choosing Tile

1. Honor the style of your home.

If your home is a traditional style home, built after 1900, say, a 20’s 30’s or 40’s style home, then try to create an interior look with those style choices in mind. You can still keep things simple and clean looking without forsaking the warmth of your home’s traditional style.

If, for example, you want to change your traditional home to an all modern look, try to resist that temptation if you can help it. You home will look incongruous. However, If you must change the interior style drastically, then consider adapting a more “transitional” approach by tying in at least some of your home’s traditional elements in your tile style selection. Adding a nice border that pays homage to your home’s style is a great way to bring warmth to a modern look.

2. Buy tile to match the quality of your home.

If you live in a nice house, spend a little more on better quality tile. It will show.

3. Black and white is a classic look that will never go out of fashion.

It is crisp, clean, and elegant. If you’re not sure which colors to choose, then black and white (or variations such as a creamy off-white or gray) will serve you well.
