Selecting Handmade Tile

Handmade tile is truly unique. Selecting handmade tile is different than selecting manufactured tile for a number of reasons:

In other words, it can vary greatly. It helps to know this before you order.

Ideally, you want to make sure you have ordered enough tile for your project. Handmade tile can be difficult to “match” if more is required. Become familiar with how much variation can show up in your order. If possible, look at installations where your particular choice of tile has been used. Get a hold of some samples, even if you have to buy a few outright. It will save you money in the long run. Take the samples to the project site and view them in different kinds of light. Make sure that the unique “variation” is what you’re looking for. If so, handmade tiles can be gorgeous and impart a truly special look.

Handmade tiles are not usually returnable. They are a custom product — so, choose wisely, and love what you’re ordering!
